In this article on individual Ford models Ford Review we're taking a look at the Ford Falcon. The reason being is that when I was a kid, my father bought a Ford Falcon station wagon and I have fond memories of the car.

Ford Falcon

It was 1970 or thereabouts and my family were living in Sydney, Australia. Up until then, we'd had an old pink Holden station wagon, which the other kids would have laughed at it except that it was considered patriotic to own a Holden, then Australia's only home produced automobile.

So when the sleek, white Ford Falcon took its place, we were over the moon and our friends were jealous! This car was huge! it took our family (mum, dad and us four kids aged from 5 to 10) from Sydney to Canberra one year and from Sydney right across to Adelaide and back twice! If you don't know Australia very well, that's a damn long drive - about two days almost solid across one of the harshest outback deserts on this earth.
